A) Acid etch. This creates microscopic pores in the natural tooth surface where the filling material will bond to.

B) A thin layer of adhesive is then applied and exposed to the UV light. This prepares the tooth to receive the bonding material. This creates a seal at a molecular level.

C) Filling material is then placed and formed to re-create the lost tooth anatomy.
